Green Tea shots are the perfect mix of sweet and tangy. These shots are made with jameson, peach schnapps, sweet and sour, with a splash of sprite. Despite the name, these shots do not contain any actual green tea. Green Tea shots have been rising in popularity and continue to be a favorite in many bars and nightclubs.
The smooth taste of these shots make them easy to take. These are great shots to toast with and are perfect for those that prefer a sweet shot that does not taste like alcohol.
The first time I drank a green tea shot I admit I was leary. But I LOVED it. In fact, I served these at our monthly poker night and surprised the whole group.
What is a Green Tea shot?
A green tea shot is a popular shot that is made up of Whiskey, Peach Schnapps, Sweet and Sour, and Sprite. This shot has been a favorite in bars and nightclubs. The green tea shot is sometimes referred to as a “Jameson Green Tea.” Jameson is commonly used as the whiskey in this shot. Irish whiskey is the best whiskey to use for this shot.
Why is it called a Green Tea Shot?
The green tea shot gets its name from the color. When this shot is properly made, it has a light green/yellow color that is slightly translucent. Very similar in color to a green tea. Many people think that this shot has green tea in it. This shot does not contain any actual green tea and gets its name from the resemblance to green tea.
How do you make a Green Tea Shot?
Green tea shots are very simple to make. This recipe requires a co*cktail shaker to shake the ingredients together. To make a green tea shot, pour the whiskey, peach schnapps, and the sweet and sour in a co*cktail shaker. Add ice into the co*cktail shaker and shake until the liquid is cold. Pour the shots equally into two shot glasses. Top each shot glass with sprite until full.
What Does a Green Tea shot taste like?
A green tea shot tastes like a sweet and sour peach drink. Despite the addition of Jameson whiskey, the flavor of the peach schnapps comes through the most. The sweet and sour adds a nice tang into the drink. The sprite brings a light hint of carbonation and extra sweetness into the shot.

Ingredients
1 oz. Jameson Irish Whiskey
1 oz. Sweet and Sour Mix
1 oz. Peach Schnapps
1/2 oz. Sprite (fill to top)
Instructions
Fill your co*cktail shaker with ice cubes.
Pour in the Jameson
Add the Peach Schnapps
Measure in the sweet and sour mix.
Seal and shake the co*cktail shaker vigorously until cold.
Pour the green tea shot evenly into two shooter glasses.
Top off with sprite.
Notes
Any lemon lime soda will make a good sparkling soda to top this shot.
