How it works
Simply request to join this programme, and once you are confirmed, your location will show up on the drop-off map. Set up boxes that community members can fill with their rubbish to be recycled, and send full boxes to TerraCycle at no cost to you.
Collect with Your Community
Once your location is approved as a drop-off point, community members will be able to find it on the map and drop-off their rubbish to be recycled.
Print Free Shipping Labels
When a box is full, sign in to your TerraCycle account to download and print a prepaid shipping label.Please note that, throughout our contest until 19th April, this programme does not require a minimum weight for your shipments.
Ship
Seal your box, affix the prepaid shipping label, and send it to us to be recycled.

Please note: Only one drop-off location per account per programme is authorised.A minimum distance of 2 miles is required between each drop-off point, unless you are in a heavily populated area. In addition, your public drop-off point must be open for at least 3 hours per week.
It’s easy to set up and manage a drop-off point, and you can recruit a group of friends to help!
Set Up:
- Choose a location and receive permission if needed.
- Update a new or existing TerraCycle account profile with details about your drop-off location.
- Request to join the programmes you would like to participate in.
- Once you’ve been approved for the programmes you requested, set up your drop-off location.
Manage:
- Oversee the location (check it is being used properly, and that waste is being shipped when collection boxes are filled).
- When boxes are filled, seal them. You can then send us your parcel via UPS or InPost:
- For UPS: Request a prepaid shipping label from your account, download it and print it from your email. Please make sure you use a sturdy cardboard box no larger than 60x60x50 cm in size. Simply book a free pick-up by calling 03457 877 877 or book online via this link. You can also drop off your parcel at your closest UPS drop-off point, which you can find here.
- For InPost: Request an InPost QR code from your account and receive it via email. No need to print it! Simply have it ready on your phone when you drop off your parcel at your nearest 24/7 InPost Locker which you can find here. Please ensure your parcel is no more than 15 kg and 41x38x64 cm in size.
- Continue to join programmes of your choosing.
Promote: Spread awareness about your location to encourage participation.
Allocate: As you accumulate TerraCycle points, choose which charities to donate to!
There are no direct costs to you for running a public drop-off point. Many collectors spend nothing other than their time. You may choose to purchase specific boxes or bins for your drop-off location, but you can also just use extra boxes you have at home.
Public spaces that have good traffic flow and are easily accessible are excellent drop-off points. Stores, community centers, places of worship, and libraries are great options.
You choose which TerraCycle free recycling programmes your drop-off point will participate in. Collectors can drop off only the waste accepted in those TerraCycle programmes.
Yes, The Philips Dental Care Free Recycling Programmeallows public drop-off locations to receive a branded collection box. Please note this box is only to collect waste into. We will ask you to use another cardboard box for sending your waste to us and to reuse the branded box for collecting new waste.
To receive a collection box for your location, please follow these simple steps:
- Go toyour account
- Under the ‘My Programme’ section, scroll down to find the programme you are requesting a box for
- Select ‘Request a Collection Box’
You should receive your box within 14 working daysat the address saved in your TerraCycle account.

Request for your drop-off point to join the Philips Dental Care Free Recycling Programme. Once approved, begin collecting recycling with your community.
2. Earn Rewards
Send in the recycling you’ve collected at your drop-off point. As the drop-off administrator, you’ll earn all of the points for your shipments! Shipments earn 100 points per kilogram.
3. Redeem Rewards
TerraCycle points can be redeemed for a donation of £0.01 per point. You’ll get to choose which charities or schools to support with the points you earn from your drop-off.

You can recycle your dental care products through this programme.
You can recycle your electric toothbrushes at your local Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC)or at participating retailers that allow you to drop off electricals (conditions may apply):
- Battery operated toothbrushes
- Electric toothbrush handles
- Batteries
Waste that is NOT accepted by this programme, HWRC or retailers:
- Toothpaste tubes and caps
- Plastic packaging for toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes and floss containers
- Dental floss
No, the Philips Dental Care Free Recycling Programme accepts dental care products from all brands.
Philips Dental Care has sponsored this national recycling programme, so there is no direct cost to you.
We encourage you to ship when your box is full of dental care products to minimise the transportation carbon footprint for this programme. You can send your shipments via UPS (printer required) or InPost (no printer required). Wet/dripping packages will not be accepted, so please make sure they are dry.
When you are ready to send a parcel, please follow these steps:
With UPS - printer required:
- Request a free UPS label from your account.
- Download your label and print it out from your email.
- Place your waste in a sturdy cardboard box that is no bigger than 60x60x50cm and a maximum weight of 20 kg.
- Attach your label securely to your parcel, and ensure it is easy to read.
- Drop off your parcel at your closest UPS drop-off point or arrange a free pick-up for your parcel via UPS by either booking online or calling 03457 877 877.
With InPost - no printer required:
- Request an InPost QR code from your account. You’ll receive it via email.
- No need to print it! Simply have it ready on your phone.
- Place your waste in a sturdy cardboard box that is no bigger than 41x38x64 cm and has a maximum weight of 15 kg.
- Find your nearest 24/7 InPost Locker here and scan your unique QR code when you drop off your parcel.
No, you do not need to clean the packaging before dropping it off, but please remove as much of the remaining product as possible before shipping. Public drop-off locations will not accept dripping items, so make sure your items are dry.
